Business need: A major Colombo hospital was having difficulties storing and distributing its laboratory equipment as space was at a premium on its premises. The hospital was being forced to compromise on some of its core services so that it could allocate enough space for equipment storage.
Solution: We provided a comprehensive solution by taking over the logistics system in its entirety; warehousing the hospital’s lab equipment, and handling the delivery of this equipment to the hospital’s labs across the country. The warehouse facilities are managed according to regulatory guidelines for the storage of lab equipment and consumables, and include specialised warehousing for chemicals, with the required eyewash stations for emergency situations, and remote temperature monitoring. This incorporation of D P Logistics into the hospital’s logistics system made sure that the hospital could once more focus singularly on its core medical services to the public.
